After almost a year of Dupixent, I would have thought that all of the side effects of taking Dupixent would have gone away by now: I was wrong. A little over a month ago, the side effects of Dupixent were so strong that I decided to quit taking it to see how it would affect my body. The results were exhilarating. After months and months of dealing with joint and muscle pain, my body finally felt at its finest. No more cracking joints, I had the body of a regular teenager again!
Things were fine for the next three weeks, until my body began breaking out. I begin to start my Dupixent regimen again, bimonthly. After taking a break off of Dupixent, my body began reacting differently to it. Often creating symptoms that many people face when they are first starting Dupixent. My best guess is that because I was off of Dupixent for so long, when I reintroduced it back, my body reacted like it was new. My eyes began flaring up and soon enough, my left eye was peeling layers of skin.
This was not a good sign as the first day of school was just around the corner and my Eczema was looking good until this. Luckily, my checkup with my allergist is two days away! Fingers crossed that it’s just the environmental factors and nothing else!
